We believe every child should have the opportunity to participate in the performing arts, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Our bursary scheme provides full or partial financial support to help cover class fees for families experiencing financial hardship.

 

Bursaries apply to weekly class subscription fees only and do not normally cover examination fees, costumes, trips, camps or other optional activities unless specifically stated.

 

Who can apply?

You may be eligible if your household:

• Is on a low income.

• Receives certain means-tested benefits.Has experienced a recent change in financial circumstances.

• Has more than one child attending and is experiencing financial difficulty.

• Faces exceptional circumstances that make paying fees difficult.

* Bursary awards are entirely discretionary and subject to the availability of funding.

​* Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that financial assistance will be awarded.

 

What support is available?

 

• Up to 100% fee remission.

• 75% fee support.

• 50% fee support.

• 25% fee support.

 

* The amount awarded depends on available bursary funding and the level of financial need.

* Bursary awards are normally made for one academic year. Families may be asked to reapply each year so that we can reassess financial circumstances and available funding.

 

What will we ask for?

 

Applicants may be asked to provide evidence such as:

• Universal Credit statement

• Tax Credit Award Notice

• Pension Credit

• Income Support

• Child Tax Credit

• Payslips

• P60

• Self-employed tax return

• Proof of household income where appropriate

 

 

* Any personal information and supporting documents provided will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection legislation. Information will only be used for assessing bursary applications. 

* Cotswold Youth Theatre reserves the right to review bursary awards where circumstances change or if information provided is found to be inaccurate.

 

*Applications are assessed confidentially by the Sparkhouse Creatives and Cotswold Youth Theatre management team. If false or misleading information is provided, any bursary awarded may be withdrawn and fees may become payable in full.

 

Families receiving bursary support are expected to:

• Attend regularly

• Inform us if financial circumstances improve

• Notify us if they withdraw from classes.
